Shukr (Arabic: شكر ) is an Arabic term denoting thankfulness, gratitude or acknowledgment by humans, being a highly esteemed virtue in Islam. 'A'ishah R.A. met her at a point on the way and she said to Umm Khallad: "You have a camel, what is there behind you?" Patience on the pre-decrees of Allaah (meet it with Shukr & Tawbah). Abdur Rehman Ibne Auf said: 'you are weeping, O Messenger of Allah ﷺ '. Sabr and Shukr. Or something bad is happening to us, something we dislike and our role here is to be patient (Sabr). And Allaah will certainly make (it) known (the truth of) those who are true, and will certainly make (it) known (the falsehood of) those who are liars, (although Allaah knows all that before putting them to test). Indeed, they are like a cure; although it may be bitter, we accept them since they are from the One whom we love, and to Allaah belongs the best example. Be grateful to Me, and do not reject Me" (Al-Baqarah 2:152). Sabr or shukr, the worry stops here. ‘I had 4 limbs 2 arms and 2 legs Allaah took one and left me three.
